Originally came to MSU in 1970 to play basketball...Played one year of hoops before deciding to concentrate solely on cross country and track and field...Track and cross country captain during four-year career...Earned All-American status in the mile in 1974 with his third-place national finish...At the time of induction, held the MSU record in the mile with a time of 4:05.3 (1974)...Tried out for United States Olympic team in 1976...Graduated from MSU in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
