Served as MSU’s Director of Promotions and Camps from 1984 until his retirement in 2002...Received North Central Conference Honor Award (NCC Hall of Fame) in 2003...Handled several developmental activities for MSU Athletics and served as the key person in overseeing expansion and growth in event concessions and Maverick summer camps....Recipient of “Quality Service Award” by the State of Minnesota in 1989, was responsible for promotion, advertising, halftime events and special promotional activities for MSU home events...Member of the New Ulm (Minn.) High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Schaffer graduated from MSU in 1970 and earned a master’s degree from MSU in 1984...In addition to working in private business, Schaffer worked for the Mankato YMCA and IBM and served three years in the United States Army prior to joining MSU in 1984.
