About The Maverick Achievement Awards

In an effort to recognize and honor outstanding athletic and academic performance for all of its athletic programs, the Maverick Achievement Awards program was initiated in 1986-87.

Requirements for the award stipulate that recipients be seniors, letterwinners and have a grade point average of 3.00 or better going into their senior year.

More than 1,000 Minnesota State student-athletes have been honored through this program. The student-athletes recognized are an elite group and personify Minnesota State's total commitment towards achieving a strong balance between academics and athletics.
