Lettered four times in cross country and track and field at MSU... Competitor on conference championship cross country teams in 1964-'65-'67 and track in 1965-'66 ... Coached six state championship teams at Winona High School, two in boys cross country, one in girls cross country, one in boys cross country skiing and one in girls cross country skiing... Coached teams to 29 section championships, 30 conference championships and 24 top-five finishes at state meets in 39 appearances... 1983 Minnesota Boys Track Coach of the Year ... 1985 Minnesota Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year ... 1986 and 2000 State Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year ... 1970 Le Center Teacher of the Year ...Inducted into Minnesota Boys Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame in 1992, Girls in 1995...Winona Senior High School Hall of Fame...Will be inducted into Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame November, 2003.
