First MSU women’s basketball team to capture North Central Conference title...Made MSU’s first women’s basketball appearance in NCAA Division II postseason tournament...Went 25-4 and established school record for wins...Began the season with a 16-game winning streak...Ranked as high as #3 in the country during the course of the season...Three players named All-NCC (Lisa Walters, Julie Cink, Pat Burns)...Sophomore center Lisa Walters was named NCC MVP...MSU led the league in offense, defense, rebounding, FG% defense, rebound margin and scoring margin...Team established 17 new school records...MSU won three tournaments, had five players named to all-tournament teams, three players named All-NCC, two players (Anne Christopherson and Lisa Walters) were named NCC All-Academic, one player (Lisa Walters) was named All-American and Sarah Novak was named NCC Coach of the Year...Five players from this team (Lisa Walters, Carla Schuck, Pat Burns, Anne Christopherson, Julie Cink) are in the MSU Hall of Fame.
