Was a five-year basketball player at MSU...Because of the WWII, Loy was granted a fifth season...Played in 1941-42-43-46 and 1947...Played guard and served as team captain for the 1943 season...Participated in the 1947 NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. with the national runnerup MSU team...Graduated in 1947 from MSU...Received his Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota in 1949 and earned his Doctorate of Education Degree from Oregon State in 1973...Joined the MSU coaching staff in 1956 and assisted in football until 1968...Was also an assistant basketball coach and tennis coach...Professor of Health Science at MSU...Taught and coached at Dickinson State Teachers College with a 6-2 football record...Coached college basketball at Chadron State College for five seasons with a 82-29 (.739) won-loss record...His 1951 team won the NAIA District playoffs and played in the national tournament in Kansas City, Mo.
