Was one of the "pioneer" hockey players on Coach Don Brose's first intercollegiate team at MSU...Played four seasons and was MSU's top scorer twice...Had 57 goals, 48 assists, and 105 career points in 60 MSU games...The Mavericks had a four-year record of 47-20-5 (.685) in the 1969-73 era of Techar's career...Was team MVP, captain, and NCAA All-American in 1973...Three-year varsity letterwinner in baseball for MSU coach Jean McCarthy.
