1998 North Central Conference Kolpack Media Award recipient...Began broadcasting Mankato State Athletics events in 1971.
In addition to serving as the play-by-play announcer for Maverick football and men's basketball games, also broadcast MSU baseball, hockey and women's basketball games...1971 MSU grad carried a streak of 230 consecutive MSU football games worked into the 1998 campaign...Worked for KMSU as an undergraduate before joining the staff at KYSM in Mankato in 1975. In 1988, when MSU’s broadcast rights were purchased by KXLP, Lloyd shifted with the contract and has continued in his role as the chief play-by-play announcer for Maverick Sports...Has also served in a media relations director and chief public address announcer capacity at several state and national amateur baseball and softball events held in Mankato.
