A former track and field athlete who graduated in 1949 and went on to serve as MSU's Dean of Health and Human Performance for 14 years (1976-89)...Played instrumental role in MSU's rise to athletic prominence on a national small college level...Key players in development and growth of women's programs, MSU's switch from the Northern Intercollegiate Conference to the North Central Conference, initiation of the Maverick Booster Club, resurrection of a dormant Hall of Fame...Served as coach of men's and women's bowling teams, was coach of the pre-varsity hockey team, and directed the recreation and intramurals office during his tenure at MSU.
