Finished second at NCAA national championships (college division) in Wilkes Barre, Pa....Team had six All– Americans including two members who claimed national individual titles – Bob Soulek at 130 and Bob Wendel at 145...Other All– Americans included Al Ogdie (4th at 115), Jim Soulek (4th at 160), Mike Howe (5th at 123), Tom Sowles (5th at 137)...Soulek (137) and Wendel (152) were Northern Intercollegiate Conference champions...Other members of the team included Dick Swalla (heavyweight), and Jim Riesselman (167)...Team went 11 – 2 – 1 during regular season and in addition to earning wins over the University of Utah, Illinois State and Northern Illinois, earned a tie with the University of Arizona...Led by legendary MSU wrestling coach Rummy Macias.
