Three-sport star at MSU from 1941 through 1943 and 1945-47...Member of two football conference championship teams as the Mavericks captured the Northern Conference crown in 1942, and the Northern Intercollegiate title in 1946...Football Co-captain in 1946 ad 1947...All-NIC Second team in 1946 and 1947...Has since gone on to coach and teach at Nicollet and Red Wing High Schools, and served as Head of Department of Physical Education and Head Football Coach at Winona State University...In 1977 was NAIA District 13 Track "Coach of the Year", in 1978 was NAIA Area IV Track "Coach of the Year", and in 1983 accrued both NIC "Coach of the Year" and NAIA District 13 "Coach of the Year" honors.
