Four-year letterwinner in football (1971-75)...Played both wide receiver and tight end positions...Compiled 85 career receptions, 10 touchdowns and 1,271 yards for MSU...All-North Central Conference honors as a senior...Was the Houston Oilers' ninth-round selection in the 1975 NFL Draft (221st overall)...Played two years (1977 and 1978) with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Canadian Football League...Went on to play in the National Football League for six years beginning with the San Francisco 49ers in 1978...Caught Joe Montana's 1st NFL TD pass (Nov. 18, 1979 vs. Denver in 38-28 home loss)...Joined Minnesota Vikings in 1980 where he played until 1983...For his NFL career, totalled 72 receptions for 709 yards and eight touchdowns in 68 games played...Madison, Wis., native.
