Four-time wrestling All-American...Member of two national championship teams in 1958 and 1959....Captured 1958 individual title at 177 lbs. and was named tourney's Most Outstanding Wrestler...Meet was the first NAIA national tournament and was hosted by MSU...Finished second at NAIA (177 lbs.) and NCAA (191 lbs.) meets in 1959...Came back to school in 1969 and finished second in the country competing as a heavyweight...Now retired, Mankato native was a teacher at Waconia High School for several years...Ranked fifth on MSU's Male Athletes of the Century list.
