WEST FARGO, N.D. --- Minnesota State continued to set the standard Thursday evening as the Mavericks won four events on day two of the NSIC Championships.
MSU sits in first place in the team standings with 565.5 points, with St. Cloud State following in second place with 384.5 points.
Freshman
Parker Schmieding got things going right away in the finals of the 100 butterfly event as she finished first with a time of 56.76. Senior
Claudia Schwartz followed in third place with a time of 56.85 to earn All-NSIC honors as well. Freshman
Emily Spielman took eighth place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.62 as well.
Sophomore
Savannah Acker picked up her second individual championship of the meet as she took first place in the 400 IM with a provisional qualifying time of 4:25.57. Junior
Gretta Hansen followed right behind in second place, earning All-NSIC honors with a time of 4:30.18. Sophomore
Teresa Collingwood turned in a fifth place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:34.48 as well.
In the 200 freestyle event sophomore
Hannah Denzer led the way as she won the event with a provisional qualifying time of 1:51.24. Sophomore
Norah Naatjes followed in fourth place with a time of 1:53.21, while senior
Alexandra Gorecki took seventh with a time of 1:55.00.
The quartet of Acker, sophomore
Averi Larsen, Schmiding and Denzer won the 400 IM event with a time of 3:46.77 to claim All-NSIC honors
In the 3-meter diving event, junior
Natalie Freeman finished in seventh place with a score of 4:03.10, while sophomore
Chloe Dobie took eighth place with a score of 384.20.
The NSIC Championships continue on Friday with the prelims set for 10 a.m., with the finals set to follow at 5:00 p.m.
