BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State's Nathan Owens has been named the NSIC Swimming Coach of the Year for his efforts this past season.

Owens guided the Mavericks to a 10-1 dual record this past season, before securing MSU's fourth NSIC Championship with 1,166.5 points. During the NSIC Championships, Owens coached Maverick sophomore Savannah Acker who was named the NSIC Swimmer of the Meet as she tallied 80 points.

Three Mavericks would go on to qualify for the NCAA Championships, including Acker who earned an All-American Honorable Mention in the 100 backstroke event.

This is the fifth time in his career that Owens has been named the NSIC Swimming Coach of the Year. He previously received the honor in 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2024.
