MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State women's head hockey coach
Shari Dickerman has announced the signing of eight student-athletes to join the Mavericks next season.
All signings are contingent upon admission to Minnesota State and being compliant with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
"Our signing group of players will bring a combination of grit, physicality, playmaking ability and skill," Dickerman said. "They all bring leadership qualities and are exceptional, high character individuals who will mesh into our family and culture seamlessly. We feel these attributes will allow all eight to elevate their game to make the jump to the WCHA. We are excited to see them continue their development this season and look forward to welcoming them to campus in 2025."

Mercury Bischoff (Cohasset, Minn./ Grand Rapids-Greenway), goaltender
Kaydence Roeske (Paynesville, Minn. River Lakes High), forward
Sophie Stramel (Apple Valley, Minn. / Rosemount High School), defender
Mika Cichosz (Alberta Lea, Minn. / Alberta Lea High School), forward
Zoe Lopez (Plymouth, Minn. / Orono High School), forward
Kendall Hassler (Delano, Minn. / Benilde – St. Margaret's), forward
Makayla Moran ( Lakeville, Minn. / Apple Valley High School), and defender
Lucienne Tenenbaum (Redwood City, CA. / Bishop Kearney High School, Rochester, NY).
About Bischoff:
Bischoff played for Grand Rapids – Greenway and earned all-state honors for four seasons... She has been the team captain since her sophomore year and has the most GRG Lightning goals and points in the history of the program... Has over 300 career points... Bischoff is daughter of Laura and Donald Bischoff… Her father Donald played tennis at Concordia-St. Paul.
Dickerman on Bischoff: "Mercury is a smooth skating forward with offensive instincts that allow her to make plays for herself and teammates. She is an elusive player who changes her speed and can create offense off the rush, from below the goal line, or in transition."
About Roeske:
Roeske three-star athlete... Three time All-conference honoree as a goaltender… All-conference as a junior and sophomore in softball… Second team all-conference as a junior and sophomore in volleyball... State champion as a freshman in hockey and reached 3,000 saves as a junior...Outside of hockey she was vice president of National Honor Society and president of Student Council as a senior...Roeske is the daughter of Rand and Gretchen Roeske, and her sister is
Kianna Roeske is currently a defender for the Mavericks... Roeske plans to study Business Marketing at MSU.
Dickerman on Roeske: "Kaydence is an athletic goaltender who has strong fundamentals. Always square to the puck, she has the ability to control the game from the crease with her reads and communication. She can make tough saves seem routine because of her quick movements and solid positioning."
About Stramel:
Stramel is a three-time South Suburban league all-conference selection… She was named team MVP at her Rosemount High School season as a junior and sophomore…She is the daughter of Gretchen Stramel... Her mother played soccer at the University of St. Thomas... Stramel plans on studying Psychology at Minnesota State.
Dickerman on Stramel: "Sophie is a true 200-foot center who is strong on her stick and wins battles. She can play as a shutdown defensive center or play as a playmaking offensive center. Her versatility, physicality and hockey sense will allow her to make an immediate impact."
About Cichosz:
Cichosz was selected all-state in hockey as well as all Big-9 conference, team MVP and academic all-state as a junior… She was a hockey team captain as a senior and junior... Outside of hockey Cichosz was a part of National Honor Society, student council, and FCA leadership team. Cichosz was a varsity and academic letter winner... She is the daughter of Amy and Jay Cichosz. Her father Jay played football at Bemidji State and her mom Amy played softball at North Dakota State... Her older brother, Campbell, is a defenseman on the Maverick's men's hockey team.
Dickerman on Cichosz: "Mika plays a hard-nosed physical game. She is gritty in the corners and courageous in the net front. A puck moving defender, who can make a good first pass and a powerful skater who is able to join the offense. Mika has a heavy shot and great hockey sense, which makes her a threat from the blueline."
About Lopez:
Lopez is a three-time all-conference selection and was named all-state honorable mention as a freshman... Named to Minnesota State High School State Tournament all-tournament team as a junior and sophomore... State runner-up as a sophomore and earned third place as a junior... Participated in track and field... Participated in soccer and earned spotlight on scholar as a sophomore... Team captain... Participated in lacrosse and earned spartan spirit award... Daughter of Molly and Len Lopez and sister of AJ Lopez who graduated from MSU in May of 2024... Zoe plans on studying Biomedical Sciences on a Pre-Med track.
Dickerman on Lopez: "Zoe is a powerful forward who can play a physical game and win battles down low. She can power off the wall and get to the middle of the ice. She plays gritty and is willing to drive her feet and gets pucks and herself to the net front."
About Hassler:
Earned all-conference honorable mention while she attended Delano/Rockford… Earned offensive rookie of the year as a freshman at Benilde- St. Margaret's... Earned all-conference award as a junior and sophomore... She is the daughter of Nicole and John Hassler.
Dickerman on Hassler: "Kendall is small in stature but plays with power and grit. She has the ability to generate crossover speed, shoots the puck well and understands how to score. She is creative offensively and plays well in combination."
About Moran:
Moran is a three-time all-conference and all-metro team pick... All-state honorable mention as a sophomore... Parents are Patrick and Linda Moran… Her father Patrick was a graduate of Minnesota State University.
Dickerman on Moran: "Makayla has been dazzling fans with her skating to get in open ice, beating people one on one and deking goalies since seventh grade. A gifted natural goal-scorer, she has evolved and adapted her game to become a threatening playmaker."
About Tenenbaum:
Tenebaum is a 16U New York champion in 2023…19U New York State Champion in 2024… 19U National Champion finalist in 2024... Honor roll student... Daughter of Jennifer Buecher and Ray Tanenbaum.
Dickerman on Tenenbaum: "Lucie is a strong skating, puck moving defender with the ability to get her shot through from the point. A strong presence at the net front, she can quickly transition the puck from defense to offense. A dual citizen of both the United States and Switzerland, Lucie will have the opportunity to compete with Switzerland's National Team."
