Mankato, Minn. --- The #23 Minnesota State Men's Indoor Track & Field team kept its home winning streak alive with a dominating performance in the Mark Schuck Multi & Open, notching 243 points to take first place, making it three wins in three home meets this season.

The shot put competition featured the return of former Maverick National Champion and All-American, and current Minnesota Viking,
Chris Reed, as well as his Vikings teammate
C.J. Hamm. Reed, who still holds four MSU throwing records between indoor and outdoor combined, picked right up where he left off his Maverick career a decade ago by besting the field with a mark of 17.06 m (55' 11.75), while his Viking teammate Hamm came on strong late to pick up a third-place mark at 15.93 m (52' 3.25"). Maverick junior
Tommy Kucera finished sixth in the event with a mark of 15.39 m (50' 6").

Junior
Carson Dittel turned in arguably the most dominating performance on the day with his winning effort in the pole vault. Not only did Dittel clear a career-best 5.16 m (16' 11"), but he moved into a tie for second-place on the MSU all-time list. In addition, Dittel improved his mark in the national rankings, now standing fifth.

Dittel was far from the only Maverick to perform well in the pole vault, as sophomores
Alex Berg and
Jedidah Hansen both cleared 4.50 m (14' 9") to finish second and third, respectively. Sophomore
Austin Frank (4.20 m; 13' 9.25") took seventh place.

Senior
Tanner Maier broke the meet record in addition to a setting personal best in the mile by completing the race in 4:08.41. Maier also moved up to fourth in the program record book, as well as posting the 17
th-best time in NCAA Division II this year while earning a provisional qualifying time.

Sophomore
Aiden Buendorf turned in a career-best effort in the Jeff DeCock Memorial High Jump competition with a winning effort of 2.10 m (6' 10.75'). Buendorf moved into a tie for 11
th on the MSU all-time list in the event, and is now tied for 13
th in the nation with his provisionally qualifying height. Joining Buendorf in earning team points for the Mavericks was sophomore
Slade Heald in third (2.05 m; 6' 8.75'), moving him into a tile for 24
th nationally and hitting a provisionally qualifying height. Freshman
Jory Peters and sophomore
Jacob Ziebarth cleared 1.90 m (6' 2.75") in the high jump to take fifth and sixth, respectively.Â

The weight throw competition was captured by MSU junior
Carter Aguilera and his season-best mark of 18.37 m (60' 3.25").  Aguilera moved into 25
th place nationally with his provisional qualifying toss. Sophomore
Thomas Spoehr finished seventh in the event with a mark of 16.79 m (55' 1").

In the 1000-meter run, sophomore
Adam Bohm claimed another individual time for the Mavericks with his winning mark of 2:33.85. Fellow sophomore
Carter Owen checked in at seventh-place as well (2:36.60).

MSU sprinters swept the top four spots in the 60-meter dash, led by event champion junior
Armando Colome's season-best winning time of 6.85, which is also a provisionally qualifying time that ties for 31sth nationally. Redshirt freshman
Trey Vaval was runner up with a time of 6.89 in his collegiate track & field debut, while sophomore
Steven Marks (6.91) and senior
Rashion Walker (6.97) were third and fourth, respectively. Also earning team points for Minnesota State in the event was senior
Eddie Blackwell in sixth (7.08).

The sprinters kept up the dominating performance in the 200-meter dash as freshman
Qai Hussey led the charge of five Mavericks scoring team points by besting the field with his time of 22.17, edging teammate Walker who took second in 22.19. Sophomore
Marvin Dure brought home a fourth-place finish (22.54), with sophomore
Junior Pontes Da Veiga and senior
JeremiAH Revere taking sixth and eighth, respectively.

Freshman
Camden Combs brought home a second-place finish in the long jump, marking at 6.76 m (22' 2.25"), with senior
Reese Shannon also earned team points for MSU in the event with his leap of 6.30 m (20' 8") being good for ninth. In the 400-meter dash, Revere had runner-up honors with a time of 51.25

A pair of Maverick freshmen placed in the 800 meter run, with
Maquanet Collins taking third (2:00.08) and
Caden Speikers finishing eighth (2:02.00). In the heptathlon, freshman
Braxton Stewart turned in a solid performance in his college debut in the event, taking seventh with 4403 points. Stewart's total stands as the 14
th-best heptathlon mark in Minnesota State history.

A trio of Mavericks claimed top six finishes in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles, led by junior
Abel Christiansen earning runner-up honors with a time of 8:10. Fellow junior
Renald Pierre was right behind Christiansen in third place (8.14) – moving up to 11
th on the MSU all-time list with the effort in addition to ranking 26
th nationally with his provisionally qualifying mark – with senior
Justus Adams finishing sixth in the event (8.44).

The triple jump treated Minnesota State well with three finishers in the top six, with sophomore
Lorenzo Jones leading the way in third (14.13 m; 46' 4.25"). Freshmen
Anthony Borom (13.92 m; 45' 8") and
Camden Combs (13.78 m; 45' 2.50") took fifth and sixth, respectively.

MSU's 4x400 relay team of Bohm, Owen, Collins, and Speikers brought home a seventh-place finish (3:34.26).

The Mavericks return to action on Saturday, February 4
th, when they host the Ted Nelson Classic beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Myers Field House on the campus of Minnesota State.
