MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team won a total of 12 events Saturday afternoon as it defeated MSU Moorhead 163-125.
With the win, the Mavericks improve to 6-1 on the season, while the Dragons fall to 3-2.
The Mavericks won both relay events, including the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. The group of freshman
Amanda Jordan, sophomore
Lily Borgenheimer, freshman
Katie Streiff and junior
Maggie Knier posted a time of 1:48.61 in the 200 medley relay, while the quartet of Knier, freshman
Anja Enervold, freshman
Nikki Ault and Jordan clocked a time of 1:40.68 in the 200 freestyle relay.
Borgenheimer also went on to finish first in three events, including the 100 breaststroke (1:05.58), 200 breaststroke (2:19.60) and the 200 IM (2:11.56). Her time in the 200 breaststroke set a pool record and currently ranks third in NCAA Division II.
Sophomore
Emelia Selky also won a pair of events including the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.48 and the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:03.19 as well.
Streiff took first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.54, while sophomore
Emily Bollendorf won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:12.98. Enervold also won an individual event as she posted a time of 2:08.84 in the 200 backstroke, while freshman
Brooke Miles won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.38.
Senior
Hannah Gosen placed first in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 242.60 points. She also finished second in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 201.60.
Minnesota State continues its season on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the four-day NSIC Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D.
