What's On Tap: The Minnesota State women's hockey team will be back in action this weekend after being idle last weekend. The Mavericks will travel up to Bemidji to take on the Beavers in a two-game set on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Puck drop between the Mavericks (0-13-1) and Beavers (8-5-1) is set for 7:07 p.m. on Friday and 4:07 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Time on the Ice: Minnesota State remained idle last weekend. The Mavericks most recent games came when they dropped a pair of WCHA contests against No. 2 Minnesota on November 21st and 22nd.

Erin Krichiver produced 52 saves but Minnesota's Dani Cameranesi hat trick proved to be too much for the MSU to handle.
On Saturday the two teams battled each other in Minneapolis at Ridder Arena. Cameranesi scored her fourth goal of the weekend and Hannah Brandt added two goals of her own as the Gophers shutout the Mavericks 4-0. Krichiver added another 48 saves and totaled 100 total saves on the weekend.
Looking at the Beavers: Bemidji State boasts an overall record of 8-5-1 and are 4-5-1 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association action. BSU earned a split with Minnesota Duluth last weekend, defeating the Bulldogs 4-1 on Friday then dropping the second game on Saturday 2-0.
The Beavers are led by head coach Jim Scanlan who is in his first year at the helm of the program at Bemidji State. Junior Kaitlyn Tougas (F, 5-4, Thunder Bay, Ont.) is the leading scorer for BSU. She has totaled 3-7--10 in 14 games. Junior Stephanie Anderson (F, 5-9, North St. Paul, Minn.) has four goals this season and leads the team in that category. Sophomore Brittni Mowat (GK, 5-7, Glenboro, Manitoba) has started ten games in goal for the Beavers and owns a record of 6-3-1. She boasts a 0.952 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.49.
The Beavers are averaging 2.43 goals per game while allowing just over a goal and a half per game. They are also killing off penalties just below 90 percent of the time and are 7 of 44 with the extra man advantage.
Last Time Around: Last season, the Mavericks and Beavers faced each other four times with BSU winning the series 3-1. Bemidji State holds the slight edge in the all-time series with Minnesota State going 25-28-10 in a series that dates back to 1998.
The MSU women's hockey program - started in 1998-99 - is currently in its 17th season of competition and has compiled a 158-362-48 (.320) record in 568 total games played. The Mavericks are in their 16th year as members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and boast an 89-285-40 (.265) mark in 412 league contests.
