MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State completes regular-season action this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders against Upper Iowa University. Both Saturday and Sunday's doubleheaders are scheduled to begin at noon in Fayette, Iowa.
A Look at the Peacocks: The Upper Iowa Peacocks own a 19-25 overall record, 15-14 NSIC, have won five of their last six games and will play St. Cloud State Wednesday before the four-game weekend series against MSU. Coached by Mark Danker, the Peacocks are led at the plate by Tyler Adams who has started all 44 games while pacing the team with a .416 batting average with 10 doubles and 26 runs driven in. Leading the Peacocks with four home runs and 32 RBI is Mikey Henrichs who is batting .271 in 39 starts. Also starting every game this season for UIU is Andrew Kraus who is second on the team with a .350 batting average and 28 RBI. On the mound, Upper Iowa is led by Mario who owns a 6-1 record with a 3.55 earned run average in seven starts. Matt Treybig leads the team with 45 strikeouts while he is 2-2 with a 6.08 ERA. As a team. the Peacocks are batting .296 while the pitching staff owns a 6.27 ERA.

Mike Eckhart added a fielder's choice RBI the following innings. However, the Mavericks would fall in the first extra inning as Winona State loaded the bases before Seth McMullen stepped up to the plate and unloaded on a walk-off grand slam as the Warriors took game one, 6-2.

Nolan Johnson was key in the Mavericks 4-3 game-two victory against SMSU as his pinch-hit single in the sixth inning drove in the go-ahead run and helped seal the Mavericks 11th consecutive victory. Earning two wins on the bump for MSU was sophomore
Jason Hoppe who allowed four runs on 14 hits while striking out 11 batters in 13.1 innings of work. Also earning wins on the mound for the Mavericks were seniors

Ben Kincaid and sophomores
TJ Larson and
Mathias Butala. Martin, Larson and Kincaid allowed just one run apiece in their respective starts as the Mavericks posted a team ERA of 2.15 in the six-game span.
