Biography

2013: Started 47 of the 48 games he played in...Finished third on the team with a .327 batting average, while adding 39 RBI, 31 runs, 12 doubles, four homeruns and a triple...Had a .497 slugging percentage and .398 on-base percentage, while going six-of-six in stolen base attempts...Registered a 16-game hitting streak April 7-May 11...Named NSIC First Team All-Conference and was the NSIC Tournament MVP...Also selected to NCAA DII Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team...Was three-for-five with three RBI, three runs, two doubles and a homerun in a 10-5 win over Franklin Pierce on May 27 at the NCAA Baseball Championship...Went one-of-three with a season-high four RBI, two runs and a homerun on April 15 vs. Southwest Minnesota State.

2012: Appeared and started in 62 games...Hit .305 with 3 homers and 33 RBI...Opened the season with a 14-game hitting streak...Had a team-high 58 runs scored, which ties for fourth on MSU's all-time single-season list...Ranked second on team with 71 hits (sixth on MSU's single-season list)...Led Mavericks with 16 steals...62 games played is third on school's all-time season list.

2011:  Played in 34 games, starting 19...Hit at a .265 clip, has 18 hits, 15 runs scored and 18 RBI...Skjefte also hit two doubles, two triples, which ied for second on the team, and two home runs...Went 2-for-4 and four RBI in a NSIC road contest against Mary on March 28.

2010: Appeared in 32 games, starting 13… Posted a .244 average, .356 slugging percentage and .292 on-base percentage in limited duty.    

2009: Redshirted.    

High School: Two-year letterwinner in baseball...Named All-Conference, All-State Honorable Mention, Lions All-Star West Team, West vs. East All-Star Team...Named Offensive Player of the Year and Team Captain...Member of American Legion state runner-up with Eden Prairie American Legion in 2007.

Personal: Born January 21, 1990...Son of Alan and Stacy Skjefte…Proposed Marketing or Management major.
