EVANSVILLE, Ind. --- Minnesota State junior Natalie Freeman has qualified for the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the NCAA Championships.

The 3-meter diving prelims will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m., with the finals set to follow after 5:30 p.m. The 1-meter diving prelims will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., with the finals set to follow after 5:30 p.m.

"We're pumped that Nat made it through the prequalification meet today," head coach Nathan Owens said. "She finished 19th in the 3-meter and 13th in the 1-meter. All of these divers are really good, so it was awesome to see her battle and compete in such a stressful environment.

"She's worked really hard to come here and do well, so everyone is thrilled for her to qualify. We're excited that she will be diving on Thursday and Saturday!"

At the prequalification meet, if a diver finished in the top-eight of either event they qualify for both events at the NCAA Championships. Divers who finish 9th-16th are then selected from the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events until the event is full. A total of 22 divers will advance to the NCAA Championships.

In the 1-meter diving event, Freeman finished in 13th place with a score of 219.80. In the 3-meter diving event, she recorded a score of 209.45 to finish in 19th place.

Minnesota State continues action at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday as sophomore Savannah Acker competes in the 200 IM and sophomore Averi Larsen competes in the 50 freestyle.
