RENO, Nev. - Minnesota State baseball earned the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, sponsored by Sports Attack announced Wednesday.
The award highlights programs that post a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year. This year, 440 college programs were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement.
Coaches were able to nominate their teams for the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award following the conclusion of their spring semesters prior to the nomination deadline of July 18th. To be honored, teams had to meet the following criteria:
	- Must be a high school or college team
- Head coach must be a current ABCA member
- Team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year
The Mavericks finished the 2025 season 51-8 overall and won the NSIC Regular Season and Tournament Championships before hosting the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament at ISG Field in Mankato. Led by NCBWA Division II coach of the year 
Matt Magers, Minnesota State baseball student-athletes combined for a 3.32 GPA for the 2024-25 school year. It was the 12th consecutive term with at least a 3.0 GPA. Thirteen players were named to the Dean's List.
This marks the sixth time the Mavericks have been recognized by the ABCA.
