#10 Minnesota State Travels to St. Cloud for Four-Game Series Against Huskies

MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State Mavericks hit the road for a four-game Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) series against St. Cloud State this week. The teams will square off at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud, Minn. beginning with a Thursday doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. The first game will be seven innings, followed by a nine-inning contest. The series concludes on Friday with another doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. with the first game scheduled for seven innings and the second game scheduled for nine.  

Last Time on the Diamond:   

Minnesota State (17-2, 11-1 NSIC) is coming off a successful weekend against Minnesota Duluth, winning three of four games. The Mavericks opened the series with a dominant 10-0 victory on Friday, highlighted by Sam George's stellar five-inning performance and home runs from Ben Palmer and Louis Magers.   

On Saturday, MSU swept the doubleheader with a 4-0 shutout and a 15-5 comeback win, fueled by Magers' three-run home run.   

The Mavericks saw their five-game winning streak snapped on Sunday, falling 13-6 despite an offensive push from Zach Stroh, Ike Mezzenga, and Matthew Fleischhaker.  

For his efforts last week, Sam George was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week.  

Magers leads the Mavericks with a .356 batting average, with eight home runs and 29 RBI's. 

On the mound Nathan Culley leads the Mavericks with a 2.32 ERA and has a 5-0 record this season.  

Scouting the Huskies:   

St. Cloud State (11-11, 7-5 NSIC) enters the series after splitting a four-game set against Sioux Falls. Head coach Pat Dolan, in his 18th season, leads the Huskies squad looking to climb the conference standings.   

Ethan Navratil has been the Huskies' top hitter, leading the team with a .393 batting average, three home runs, and 25 RBIs.   

On the mound, Brady Nelson has been the ace, boasting a 3.51 ERA and a 4-0 record this season.
