MANKATO, Minn – The Minnesota State Mavericks (11-16-1, 5-16-1 WCHA) get ready to host the St. Cloud State Huskies (13-10-5, 8-10-4 WCHA) on Friday afternoon at 3:02 p.m. and on Saturday afternoon at 2:02 p.m. at the Mayo Clinic HSEC. This weekend the Minnesota State Women's hockey team will be putting on a Diaper Drive benefiting Committee Against Domestic Abuse.
Last Time Out:
Last weekend, the Mavericks traveled to Bemidji State where they split a weekend series. On Friday, MSU fell 3-2 in overtime.
Whitney Tuttle scored both goals in Friday's game. She 'is currently the team's leading scorer.
On Saturday, the Mavericks beat the Beavers 5-1 with
Alexis Paddington scoring two goals and
Bella Shipley,
Kamryn Van Batavia and
JuliAnna Gazdik each scoring a goal.
Jessie McPherson and
Hailey Hansen split the weekend in goal. McPherson recorded a .971 save percentage and Hansen recorded an .870 save percentage.

Whitney Tuttle leads the team in goals with 13 goals this season and junior forward
Taylor Otremba leads the team in points with 11 goals and 13 assists.
Leading the Mavericks defense is sophomore
JuliAnna Gazdik she has collected 30 points making her 9
th in program history for points by a defenseman.
Minnesota State is currently sixth in the WCHA, if the Mavericks stay put at sixth, they will face Ohio State in the WCHA quarterfinals.
Scouting the Huskies:
Last weekend the St. Cloud Huskies faced St. Thomas and split the weekend. On Friday, St. Cloud State beat the Tommies 5-2 but on Saturday SCSU lost to the Tommies 2-1 in overtime.
Forward Alice Sauriol leads the Huskies with four goals and 14 assists totaling 18 points.
Emilia Kyrkko and Sanni Ahola split time between the pipes. Kyrkko has recorded a .927 save percentage while Aloha records a .918 save percentage.
The Mavericks are 43-53-13 with the Huskies, the last time the two teams met up was earlier this season when MSU split the weekend with St. Cloud State. In Friday's game Otremba,
