MANKATO, Minn. — Six members of the Minnesota State women's soccer team have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Honorees include senior

Amara Smith, junior
Maddix Archer, sophomore
Maclayne Menzel, senior
Kiera Laney, and sophomore
Savanna Stockness.
The 2025 Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined excellence on the field and in the classroom. Honorees advance to the national Academic All-America ballot, with first, second and third-team selections scheduled to be announced on December 17. The CSC Academic All-America program honors student-athletes across NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.
Van Wyngarden, a senior marketing major with a 3.93 GPA, appeared in all 23 games, scoring two goals and adding three assists for seven points. She was also the NSIC Defender of the Year.
Smith, a psychology major carrying a 3.79 GPA, played in all 23 games and totaled four goals for eight points.
Archer, a junior majoring in communication sciences and disorders with a 4.00 GPA, played all 23 games and posted four goals and four assists for 12 points.
Menzel, a sophomore, is majoring in dental hygiene and owns a 4.00 GPA. She has appeared in all 23 games and anchored a Maverick defense that allowed just nine goals all season.
Laney, a senior finance major with a 3.86 GPA, played in all 23 games and recorded one goal and two assists for four points.
Stockness, a sophomore exercise science major with a 4.00 GPA, appeared in all 23 games and scored one goal for two points.
