MANKATO, Minn. --- A total of three Minnesota State soccer players have earned D2CCA All-Central Region honors for their efforts this past season.
Senior
Anna Van Wyngarden and sophomore
Lauren McAlpine were named to the D2CCA All-Central Region First Team, while senior
Courtney Kovacs was named to the D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team. Van Wyngarden and McAlpine will now advance on to the All-American ballot.
A defender from West Des Moines, Iowa, Van Wyngarden started in every match for the Mavericks this season as she 1,985 minutes of playing time. She also notched two goals and three assists for seven points as she was named to the All-NSIC First Team and the NSIC Defensive Player of the Year.
A goalkeeper from Shoreview, Minn., McAlpine played and started in all 23 matches for the Mavericks this season as she put together an 18-1-4 record, which included 16 shutouts. She boasted a 0.38 goals against average and was named the NSIC Goalkeeper of the Year and to the All-NSIC First Team.
A midfielder from Ankeny, Iowa, Kovacs played and started in all 27 matches for the Mavericks this season. She tallied three goals and six assists for 12 points, while finishing third on the team in shots with 50. Earlier this season, Kovacs was named to the All-NSIC First Team.
Minnesota State finished its 2025 season with an 18-1-4 record as it advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
