INDIANAPOLIS — Minnesota State (17-1-3, 13-1-1 NSIC) has earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division II Central Region, as announced Monday during the Division II Women's Soccer Selection Show.
With the top seed, the Mavericks will host both the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament this week at The Pitch. MSU opens play against No. 8 seed Harding (12-6-2) on Friday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. Minnesota State will also host the matchup between No. 4 Washburn and No. 5 Missouri Western, scheduled for 10 a.m. The winners advance to Sunday's second-round game at 1 p.m., also at The Pitch.
Regional champions move on to the third round and quarterfinals on Nov. 30 and Dec. 6. The Division II semifinals and championship match are slated for Dec. 12 and Dec. 14 at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Minnesota State and Harding have never met. MSU last hosted the opening rounds in 2024, when the Mavericks advanced all the way to the National Championship match before falling to Cal Poly Pomona.
The Division II Women's Soccer Championship has been held annually since 1988, and Minnesota State has qualified for each of the past 16 tournaments.
The nationally No. 3–ranked Mavericks enter the NCAA postseason fresh off a 2–1 win over St. Cloud State to claim the NSIC Tournament Championship on Sunday.
