At the 70:34 mark, Amara Smith broke the deadlock with a goal, assisted by Mila Rustin, putting the Mavericks ahead 1-0.

Minnesota State continued to control the momentum, and in the 84th minute, Maille Mathis extended the lead with a goal, aided by an assist from Anna Van Wyngarden, sealing a 2-0 advantage. The half concluded with the Mavericks holding steady, securing a 2-0 victory.
