MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State volleyball team opened the week ranked No. 22 in the AVCA Division II Coaches Poll and No. 10 in the NCAA Division II Central Region Rankings. 

The Mavericks are one of five NSIC programs featured in the AVCA poll, joining No. 2 Wayne State, No. 5 Concordia-St. Paul, No. 11 St. Cloud State, and No. 13 Southwest Minnesota State.

MSU then turned its attention to postseason play, hosting Sioux Falls in the NSIC Tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The matchup proved to be a tightly contested battle, with the Mavericks ultimately falling in a five-set thriller to conclude their conference tournament run.

Following the loss, the Mavericks remain in the No. 10 spot in the NCAA Division II Regional Rankings for the Central Division. 

Despite the setback, Minnesota State remains firmly in the postseason conversation as the team awaits its NCAA Tournament fate. The Mavericks will look to secure a berth in the national bracket during the NCAA Volleyball Selection Show, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 24, at 6:30 p.m. CST on NCAA.com.
