BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State's
Savannah Acker and
Natalie Freeman have earned NSIC accolades for their efforts during MSU's double dual vs. Concordia-St. Paul and Southwest Minnesota State.
Acker was named the NSIC Swimmer of the Week, while Freeman garnered her second NSIC Diver of the Week honor.
A sophomore from Lodi, Wis., Acker won both the 100 backstroke (57.50) and the 200 breaststroke (2:29.46) events against CSP and SMSU. She was also a member of the 400 freestyle relay (3:37.74) and 200 medley relay (1:48.35) teams that finished first.
Acker is the first Maverick to be named the NSIC Swimmer of the Week this season and the first to receive the honor since
Averi Larsen did so back on Nov. 19, 2024.
A junior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Freeman won both the 1-meter (264.85) and 3-meter (232.70) events against CSP and SMSU. This marks the second straight week that Freeman has been named the NSIC Diver of the Week.
Minnesota State returns to action this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. as it takes on both Gustavus Adolphus and UW-Stevens Point. Gustavus Adolphus will host the swimming events, while Minnesota State hosts the diving events.
