MANAKTO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State volleyball team will compete in 26 matches during its 2023 season, including nine at home.
The Mavericks open their season at the California State University Monterey Bay Tournament in Seaside, Calif. They will compete in four matches beginning with Northwest Nazarene (6:00 p.m. CST) and Westmont (4:00 p.m. CST) on Aug. 31. MSU will then take on CSU Monterey Bay on Sept. 1 at 8:00 p.m. (CST) before finishing the tournament on Sept. 2 against Dominican at 4:00 p.m. (CST).
Minnesota State will then travel to Hays, Kan., to take part in four matches at the Tiger Classic. MSU opens the Tiger Classic on Sept. 8 with matches against Cameron (10:00 a.m.) and Southern Nazarene (2:00 p.m.), before finishing the event on Sept. 9 with matches against New Mexico Highlands (10:00 a.m.) and Fort Hays State (2:00 p.m.).
Following the Tiger Classic the Mavericks will begin their 18-match NSIC schedule. MSU will compete in six NSIC matches during the month of September starting with a road match at Southwest Minnesota State on Sept. 14 at 6:00 p.m. MSU then opens its home schedule as it hosts Winona State on Sept. 16 and Concordia-St. Paul on Sept. 21, with start times set for 2:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m., respectively. Minnesota State will then close out the month of September with three road matches at Augustana (Sept. 23/2:00 p.m.), UMary (Sept. 29/6:00 p.m.) and Minot State (Sept. 30/2:00 p.m.).
The month of October will see the Mavericks compete in eight matches, including five at home. MSU opens the month will three straight home matches against MSU Moorhead on Oct. 6 at 6:00 p.m., Northern State on Oct. 7 at 11:00 p.m., and Sioux Falls on Oct. 12 at 6:00 p.m. The Mavericks will then travel to Wayne State (Oct. 14/2:00 p.m.), Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 20/6:00 p.m.) and St. Cloud State (Oct. 21/2:00 p.m.), before finishing the month at home against Minnesota Crookston on Oct. 27 at 6:00 p.m., and Bemidji State on Oct. 28 at 2:00 p.m.
The Mavericks conclude their home schedule on the first weekend of November as they host Minot State on Nov. 3 and UMary on Nov. 4 with match times scheduled for 6:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m., respectively. MSU will then finish its regular season schedule on the road as it takes on Northern State on Nov. 10 at 6:00 p.m., and MSU Moorhead on Nov. 11 at 2:00 p.m.
The NSIC Tournament is scheduled to begin on Nov. 14, with the NCAA Central Region Tournament set to follow from Nov. 30-Dec. 2. The NCAA Elite Eight will be held from Dec. 7-9 in Oil City, Pa.
