Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State drops both games at Ohio State sliding to sixth in the WCHA standing behind St. Cloud State. The Mavericks look to rebound at home as they host #7 Minnesota Duluth.

Minnesota State comes home after two weekends at Wisconsin and Ohio State to take on the #7 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. The two-game set marks the 105th and 106th time the two teams have met in program history. UMD (19-8-1, 13-8-1 WCHA) slides in at fourth in the WCHA standings behind Wisconsin.

Ohio State cracked the scoreboard at the 6:39 mark of the opening period Friday as it commanded the first period leading 11-3 in shots.
The Mavericks fought back matching OSU's two-goal second period with a
Madison Mashuga power-play goal and a
Kelsey King rocket beating Buckeye's goaltender to pull the Mavericks within one. The OSU offense took over the third period resulting in a 6-2 win for the Buckeyes.

Lauren Barbro stopped 42 of 48 shots while seeing her record fall to 6-8-0 on the season.

Claire Butorac took charge scoring the period's only two goals putting the Mavericks in striking distance. OSU halted MSU's momentum on a five-minute major resulting in a Buckeyes power-play goal. OSU held on to the win 4-2.
