MANKATO, Minn.--- Minnesota State (5-10-0, 1-9-0 WCHA) is set for a Home-and-home series agianst
St. Thomas (6-11-0, 0-10-0 WCHA). Minnesota State will host UST on Friday while St. Thomas will host MSU on Saturday. Both games this weekend will kick off at 6 p.m.

Minnesota State dominated the competition in the Smashville classic outscoring opponents 12-3 while outshooting RMU and BU 93-48 over the weekend.
On Saturday, Minnesota State senior forward
Sydney Langseth tallied a pair of goals and an assist as the Mavericks skated past Robert Morris University, 5-1, in the opening game of the Smashville Classic.
Junior
Claire Vekich tied the game at one as she scored during a scrum in front of the net midway through the first period. Junior

Charlotte Akervik each tallied an assist on the goal.
Langseth added a pair of goals in the second. The Eden Prairie, Minnesota native notched her first tally on the power play as she took a pass from freshman
JuliAnna Gazdik and sophomore
Taylor Otremba. She would add an even-strength goal later in the period with Otremba and fellow sophomore
Whitney Tuttle assisting.
Minnesota State put the game out of reach in the third as Tuttle took a pass from Langseth and scored to make it 4-1 before senior
Jamie Nelson added an empty net goal to round out the scoring. Junior

Senior
Lauren Barbro notched her third win on the season stopping 26 of 27 shots faced. The Mavericks led the game in shots on goal 57-27.
On Sunday, Minnesota State saw 13 players record a point and used a four-goal second-period burst to erase a 1-0 deficit en route to a 7-2 victory over Boston University in the finale of the Smashville Classic.
Junior
MacKenzie Bourgerie's goal at the 11:51 mark of the second - her first as a Maverick - and Minnesota State never looked back. Bourgerie's goal was assisted by junior
Jessica Boland, her fifth of the season.
Minnesota State then rattled off three goals in under three minutes to close out the second frame. Junior

Whitney Tuttle added her first career short-handed goal to open the third period taking the wind out of BU's sails. Nelson and senior
Jayden Seifert registered assists on Tuttle's sort-handed marker. The Mavericks wrapped up the win as freshman
Kamryn Van Batavia notched her second goal of the year while Langseth collected her third goal on the weekend at the 13:22 mark of the final period to close out the Maverick scoring. Freshman

Taylor Otremba registered assists on Langseth's third power play tally of the year.
Junior
Suzette Faucher picked up her second win in net for the Mavericks after a 19-save performance.
Taking on UST:
St. Thomas (6-11-0, 0-10-0 WCHA) sits at the bottom of the WCHA behind Bemidji State. UST is the only team in the WCHA without a conference win. The Tommies have given up 60 goals this season which is a conference worst.
Headlining the Tommies' offense are freshman Ella Boerger and Rylee Bartz who combine for 29 points making up 31 percent of the team's total points. Boerger has the edge on Bartz in points registering six goals and nine assists on the year. In nine previous matchups with the Tommies, the Mavericks own a 9-1 record.
In the previous outing against the Tommies - Hall of Fame Game (Nov. 9)- the Tommies grabbed their first win against the Mavericks in their program's history. When matching up against UST, the Mavericks average 3.8 goals per game as they have never been held scoreless against the Tommies.
In goal, UST relies on its trio of seniors Olivia King,
Calla Frank, and sophomore Maggie Malecha who combine for a 3.55 goals against average and a .885 save percentage. Each goaltender has appeared in at least six games this season.
