ABERDEEN, S.D. --- The #24 ranked Minnesota State men's outdoor track and field team earned its 47th conference championship in program history. The Mavericks earned 214 points in 21 events outscoring the second-place finisher, Augustana, by 78 points. Minnesota State earned 24 All-NSIC honors during the three-day championship. The Mavericks have won 10 consecutive NSIC titles and 12 of the last 13.
The MSU 4x100m relay team that was made up of Ezekiel Clark, Prince Nti, Nicholas Sharma, and Daniel Attoh won the conference title in the event with a time of 41.25 earning All-NSIC status in the event.
Tanner Maier earned all-conference honors with a second-place finish in the 1500m run with a mark of 3:52.51.
Nick Durnin earned All-NSIC honors with a second-place finish in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.52. Durnin currently holds the 31st ranking in division II. Durnin finished second in the 400m hurdles as well with a time of 53.65 earning his second all-conference honor.
Minnesota State took the top-three podium spots in the 100m dash with Shaheed Hickman earning the conference title with a time of 10.58. Daniel Attoh and Prince Nti finished second and third both earning All-NSIC honors with marks of 10.70 and 10.71, respectively.
Maier followed up his second-place finish in the 1500m run with a NSIC title in the 800m run with a time of 1:52.23. Maier ranks fifth currently in division II.
In the 200m dash, Kenry Atubel and Josh Phelps finished second and third earning all-conference recognition with times of 21.67 and 21.74, respectively.
The MSU 4x400m relay team earned All-NSIC honors with their second-place finish in the event with a time of 3:20.11. The team was made up of Josh Phelps, Max DePrenger, Kenry Atubel, and Carter Nesvold.
Carter Aguilera earned a conference title as he was victorious in the discus throw with a heave of 182' 9'' (55.72m) earning All-NSIC honors.
Kevin Wu won the NSIC title in the javelin throw with a toss of 206' 5'' (62.92m). Wu currently holds the 22nd ranking in division II.
Carson Dittel earned the NSIC title in the pole vault with a leap of 16' 10'' (5.13m). Dittel is currently ranked 12th in division II. Thomas Lindsey finished second in event earning All-NSIC honors with a mark of 16' 8'' (5.08m). Lindsey is currently 15th in the nation.
The qualifying Mavericks will return to action on Thursday May 26 as they will travel to Allendale, Mich., to take part in the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
