12/8/2021 4:04:00 PM

ADA, Okla. --- Junior forward Jenny Vetter has been named a member of the 2021 Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women's Soccer All-American Second Team, as announced by officials Wednesday.

A Mankato, Minn., native, Vetter was among the best in the NSIC this season when it came to scoring in clutch moments by scoring seven game-winning goals (2nd in NCAA DII). Vetter now has 19 game-winning goals during her time at MSU, which moved her into a first-place tie with Korey Kronforst (2012-15) on the Mavericks' all-time game-winning goals list. In 23 matches this season, Vetter scored 19 goals, which paced the NSIC (6th in NCAA DII), and assisted on four others for a total of 42 points, which also led the conference (6th in NCAA DII). Vetter led the NSIC in goals per game (0.83 - 15th in NCAA DII) and points per game (1.83 - 18th in NCAA DII). In terms of all-time scoring at MSU, Vetter moved up the ranks to fourth with 45 goals at MSU. Now with 104 points in her career, Vetter is tied for fifth with Amanda Burrows (1999-01) on the Mavericks' all-time points list. Also a prolific shooter, Vetter now stands third all-time in program history with 282 career shots after taking 86 this season and landing 46 of them on goal. A vital part of the Mavericks' offensive prowess, Vetter played and started in all 23 matches for MSU this season and logged 1,523 minutes of action along the way, which ranked fifth on the Mavericks' roster. Vetter earned her second NSIC Player of the Year honor this season and was named to the USC All-American Third Team, earlier today.

This marks the ninth time that a Minnesota State soccer student-athlete has been named a D2CCA All-American and the second time Vetter has accomplished the feat. She was named to the second team back in 2019.

In 2021, the Mavericks (18-3-2, 12-1-2 NSIC) won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament Championship for the fifth consecutive season to collect an automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament. As a result, the Mavericks made their 10th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their 15th overall, before concluding the season with a loss in the regional semifinal game to #11 Central Missouri, 4-3, in Warrensburg, Mo.
