MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State Mavericks (6-0-1, 4-0 NSIC) hit the road this weekend for a pair of conference contests, taking on Southwest Minnesota State and the University of Sioux Falls.
Minnesota State enters the weekend with one of the best defensive starts in program history. The Mavericks have not allowed a single goal through their first seven matches—marking the longest shutout streak in school history. Last season, MSU recorded a program-best 19 shutouts, while the longest consecutive shutout streak came in 2017 when the Mavericks posted 11 straight.
Last weekend, the Mavericks continued their strong form at home, defeating Northern State 4-0 and Jamestown 2-0.

Savanna Stockness netted her first goal of the season in the 14th minute, assisted by
Avery Korsching. Freshman
Aftyn Murray doubled the lead just before halftime, finishing off a pass from
Allie Hartig. In the second half, sophomore forward
Mila Rustin—making her first home appearance since returning from injury—scored twice in a three-minute span to secure the victory.
On Sunday, graduate forward
Meghan Sullivan opened the scoring in the 27th minute off a setup from senior defender
Courtney Kovacs. In the second half, sophomore
Ruthie Gyasi tallied her first goal of the season, assisted by
Elan Litt, to extend the lead. Goalkeeper
