BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Minnesota State freshman Alexis Paddington was named Western Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks after another weekend with multiple assists vs. Lindenwood.

A native of Thunder Bay, Ont., Paddington supplied the Mavericks with a pair of assists in last weekend's sweep of Lindenwood. On Friday, Paddington helped the Mavericks with an assist on freshman Jessica Boland's empty-net goal that sealed MSU's 6-2 victory in game one. In the series finale on Saturday, the freshman forward added another assist on Claire Butorac's opening goal for the Mavericks, who went on to win 7-6 in overtime, at the 5:15 mark of the opening period. In the series, Paddington totaled two assists, put three shots on goal and blocked four others along the way.

With six games now under her collegiate belt, this marks Paddington's second time receiving a WCHA weekly honor.

Minnesota State takes on #6/5-ranked Minnesota in a home-and-home WCHA series. Game one of the series is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., CST Friday at Ridder Arena, with game two slated for 4:01 p.m., CST Saturday at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.
