Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's hockey team will conclude its six-game homestand with a Western Collegiate Hockey Association series against the #8 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. The puck will drop at 7:07 p.m., and 3:07 p.m., on Feb. 14-15 at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. Senior Day festivities will be done prior to the Saturday game.
 
Minnesota State All-Time: The MSU women's hockey program, which started in 1998-99, is currently in its 22nd season of competition and has compiled a 194-498-69 (.300) record in 761 total games played. The Mavericks are in their 21st year as members in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and hold a 118-396-54 (.255) record in 568 games played.
Last Time on the Ice: Minnesota State (11-15-5, 4-13-3-3 WCHA) split a WCHA home series with then-#1 Wisconsin, dropping the first game 5-1 and collecting the 3-1 upset in game two. 
In the first game, the Badgers held a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period scoring three times in the final 10 minutes. Junior winger Caitlin Schneider converted on a breakaway goal at the 9:11 mark, junior forward Delaney Drake's pass bounced off an MSU skate and into the back side of the net and sophomore winger Britta Curl skated just under the left face-off circle, went down to a knee and scored on a backhanded shot off the far post for the third goal. The Wisconsin lead grew to four early in the second period as senior forward Alexis Mauermann scored a short handed goal while the Mavericks were on the power play. The Mavericks scored their first goal of the game as junior center 
Brittyn Fleming won the battle in the front of the net, pushing in the puck at the 18:35 mark. The Badgers scored the final goal of the game at the 9:21 mark in the third period as junior center Brette Pettet scored from the right hash mark.
In game two, Minnesota State grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first period that was not relinquished in the 3-1 win. Freshman blueliner 
Charlotte Akervik scored the opening goal at the 4:46 mark as Fleming dropped the puck back to Akervik at the left dot, scoring in the top right corner of the net. Junior defenseman 
Tristen Truax gave the Mavericks the 2-0 lead at the 8:35 mark after she took a rebound off the pads the netminder and scored on the right side of the net. Minnesota State's lead grew to 3-0 in the second period with senior captain 
Emily Antony scoring at the 12:52 mark as she finished a 2-on-1 break with freshman winger 
Kelsey King, scoring on the left side of the net. The only goal allowed to the Badgers came when the Mavericks were on a 5-on-3 penalty kill and sophomore winger Sophie Shirley was found near the back post at the 15:45 mark in the third period.

Abigail Levy (5-10-3) made 32 saves in the game one defeat and freshman 
Calla Frank (6-5-2) made 35 saves in the game two upset win.
WCHA Rookie of the Week: Calla Frank made 35 saves on 36 shots seen in the 3-1 upset win over the then-#1 Badgers. Frank made 15 saves in the first period, nine in the second stanza and 11 in the final frame. Frank led the WCHA over the weekend in save percentage and goals against average, while also being fourth in save percentage and tied for sixth in GAA in the NCAA. 
Single Season Record: Anna Wilgren broke the tie with Emilia Anderson (2012-13) for most points by a defenseman in a single season. Wilgren's 21st point this season came on an assist to 
Emily Antony in game two against Wisconsin. She currently leads the Mavericks in points and is tied for the team lead in assists.
Senior Captain: Emily Antony continues her strong season and career for the Mavericks by scoring a goal and collecting an assist over the weekend. Antony now has the sixth most assists (44) and the tenth most points (67) in program history.
Scouting #8 Minnesota Duluth: The Bulldogs (15-9-4, 10-7-3-2 WCHA) currently sit fourth in the WCHA with 35 points. UMD swept Ohio State in a home series last weekend by the scores of 5-4 (OT) and 4-1.
The Bulldogs' offense is led by sophomore forward Gabbie Hughes, who leads the team with 17 goals and 26 assists for 43 points. Senior forward Sydney Brodt is second on the team with 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points.
In net, Minnesota Duluth features senior Maddie Rooney (14-9-4) who has started 27 of the 28 games. She has a 2.01 goals against average, .933 save percentage, 736 saves and four shutouts on the season.
Facing #8 Minnesota Duluth: The Mavericks have an all-time record of 7-72-8 against the Bulldogs. In the most recent match-up, MSU and UMD tied 2-2 in the Minnesota Cup with UMD advancing after scoring in the 3-on-3 overtime.
Looking Ahead: Minnesota State will finish the 2019-20 regular season with a WCHA road series against #4 Minnesota. Games will be on Feb. 21-22 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn., with the puck dropping at 7:07 p.m., and 4:07 p.m., respectively.
