Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's hockey team will travel to Bemidji, Minn., to face the Bemidji State Beavers in Western Collegiate Hockey Association action. Puck will drop at 6:07 p.m. and 3:07 p.m. on Jan. 24-25 at Sanford Center.

Minnesota State All-Time: The MSU women's hockey program, which started in 1998-99, is currently in its 22nd season of competition and has compiled a 191-496-68 (.298) record in 755 total games played. The Mavericks are in their 21st year as members in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and hold a 117-394-53 (.254) record in 564 games played.
Last Time on the Ice: Minnesota State (8-13-4, 3-11-2-2 WCHA) earned a series split against St. Cloud State last weekend by winning game one 5-3 and dropping game two 2-1.
In the first game, the Mavericks took a two goal lead before the Huskies could respond. Senior
McKenzie Sederberg scored the game's first goal at the 10:07 mark in the first period with her wrister sneaking through the pads of the SCSU netminder and slowly crossing the red line. Junior
Tristen Truax extended that lead at the 7:56 mark in the second period, going glove side on the goaltender. The Huskies stormed back to score two goals within 30 seconds of each other with freshman Klara Hymlarova scoring the first and freshman Olivia Cvar scoring the second on the power play. MSU regained the lead at the 14:53 mark in the second period as freshman
Kelsey King shot from the right dot and scored in the low left corner of the net. Sederberg and Truax scored their second goals of the game in the third period to put the game out of reach for SCSU. Truax delivered a power play goal from a bad angle on the left side of the net at the 5:05 mark, while Sederberg took a shot from the point and bounced the puck off the left post for the goal at the 11:43 mark. With less than a minute left, the Huskies scored the game's final goal with senior Hallie Theodosopoulos scoring the goal.Â
In game two the Mavericks scored the first goal of the game, but could not stop the comeback of the Huskies. After a scoreless first period, sophomore
Claire Butorac put MSU ahead at the 7:43 mark in the second period by pushing in a loose puck in front of the net. SCSU scored two in the third period to take the 2-1 win. Cvar scored at the 1:08 mark, finishing a 2-on-1 opportunity before sophomore Jenniia Nylund put away the game winner inside the right post at the 13:26 mark.Â

Abigail Levy (4-8-2) made 17 saves in the game one win, while freshman
Calla Frank (4-5-2) made 14 stops in the game two loss.
Career Records: Senior
McKenzie Sederberg collected her 23rd career point, which is currently ninth most by a MSU defenseman all-time. Sederberg gained her 22nd and 23rd career point by scoring a career high two goals against St. Cloud State on Jan. 17.Â
Reaching 50: Junior
Brittyn Fleming (16-34--50) became the 21st student-athlete in program history to reach the 50-point plateau. Fleming collected two assists in the 5-3 win over St. Cloud State on Jan. 17 to reach the mark. Senior
Emily Antony (19-42--61) also reached the mark earlier this season becoming the 20th student-athlete in program history to reach the 50-point plateau. Antony achieved the feat on Oct. 11 when she scored against Minnesota Duluth in the third period.
Scouting Bemidji State: The Beavers (13-12-1, 7-9-0-0 WCHA) currently sit tied for fourth place in the conference, being tied with Minnesota Duluth. BSU was swept in a road series by then-#10 Minnesota Duluth last weekend, losing by the scores of 4-0 and 4-2
The Beavers' offense is led by senior forward Haley Mack, who leads the team with 13 goals and 19 points, while also collecting six assists. Senior forward Kiki Radke (5-10--15) and junior forward Claire DeGeorge (4-11--15) are second on the team with 15 points, while DeGeorge leads the team with 11 assists.
In net, Bemidji State features junior Lauren Bench (10-10-0) who has started 20 of the 26 games. She has a 2.30 goals against average, .914 save percentage, 476 saves and three shutouts on the season.
Facing Bemidji State: The Mavericks have an all-time record of 30-44-12 against the Beavers, dating back to 1998. In the most recent match-ups this season, the Mavericks were swept by BSU in Mankato, Minn., by the scores of 1-0 and 5-2 on Nov. 22-23.
Looking Ahead: Minnesota State will take a break from WCHA action, playing a rescheduled home series against Lindenwood. The Mavericks and Lions will play on Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center with the puck will drop at 7:07 p.m. and 3:07 p.m., respectively.
