Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's hockey team will play in its first of two mid-season tournaments, traveling to Burlington, Vt., to skate in the Windjammer Classic. The Mavericks will play the #6/7-rated Clarkson Golden Knights first on Friday at 1:00 p.m. ET. MSU will then play either Penn State or Vermont on Saturday at 1:00/4:00 p.m. ET.
Minnesota State All-Time: The MSU women's hockey program, which started in 1998-99, is currently in its 22nd season of competition and has compiled a 189-491-66 (.298) record in 746 total games played. The Mavericks are in their 21st year as members in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and hold a 116-391-53 (.254) record in 560 games played.
Last Time on the Ice: Minnesota State (6-8-2, 2-8-2-2 WCHA) was swept by Bemidji State last weekend by the scores of 1-0 and 5-2, at Mankato Civic Center.

In game two, the Beavers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes of action over the Mavericks. At the 9:11 mark, senior blueliner
Heather Olson took a shot from the right dot and off the post. Bemidji State then converted on a two-on-one opportunity as senior forward
Kiki Radke fed Passolt at the 14:34 mark, scoring in the low right corner. The Mavericks were able to cut the deficit in half at the 5:31 mark in the second period as senior captain
Emily Antony connected with freshman winger
Kelsey King in the slot for her third goal of the season. BSU took back the two goal lead on a power play at the 15:18 mark as Radke fed junior winger
Paige Beebe from below the red line and scored inside the right post. Bemidji State took a three goal lead a little over a minute later as Radke tipped in a shot from junior blueliner
Tina Kampa in front of the net. The Beavers extended the lead at the 1:03 mark in the third period as Radke scored her second goal of the game on a rebound off the goaltender's pads. Minnesota State scored their second goal of the game at the 6:55 mark as sophomore winger
Madison Oelkers fired a wrister from the right dot, going top shelf.

Abigail Levy (3-5-1) started both games, making 27 saves in game one and 17 in 41 minutes of action in game two. Freshman
Calla Frank (3-3-1) played the remaining 19 minutes of game two, collecting 10 saves.
WCHA Rookie of the Week: Kelsey King was named rookie of the week for the WCHA for the third time this season. King scored her third goal of the season against Bemidji State and now has three goals and nine assists for 12 points on the season. King leads the team and WCHA freshman in assists and points on the season.
Scouting #6/7 Clarkson: The Golden Knights (10-2-4, 3-1-2 ECAC) were most recently defeated by #5 Princeton 2-1 last Friday and the tied with Quinnipiac 2-2 in overtime last Saturday.
The Golden Knights' offense is led by junior forward
Elizabeth Giguere, who leads the team with 15 goals and 27 points, while adding 12 assists. Freshman forward
Gabrielle David leads the team with 16 assists, while also scoring six goals for 22 points, leading all NCAA rookies.
In net, Clarkson features sophomore
Marie-Pier Coulombe (8-2-3) who has started 11 of the 13 games. She has a 1.38 GAA, .941 save percentage, 271 saves and two shutouts on the season.
Facing #6/7 Clarkson: The Mavericks have never matched up with the Golden Knights since the program started in the 1998-99 season. MSU has also never faced Penn State and has a 3-0-1 record against Vermont, as the other two teams participating in the Windjammer Classic.
Looking Ahead: Minnesota State will play a single game on Saturday, Dec. 7 against #1 Minnesota. The two teams will be featured in the Hall of Fame Classic as a nonconference game in Prior Lake, Minn., beginning at 3:30 p.m.
