STEVENS POINT, Wis. --- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team took first place at the UW-Stevens Point Invite as it won a total of 13 events.
MSU took first place with a total of 1,352.50 points. Gustavus Adolphus took second place with 866 points, while UW-Eau Claire (3rd/721.50 points) and UW-Stevens Point (4th/494 points) rounded out the top-four.
Day one of the UW-Stevens Point Invite saw the Mavericks record six first-place finishes.
MSU posted the top finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as the team of senior

Chelsea Calhoon and senior
Cecilia Hake turned in a time of 1:39.61. Calhoon, Hake and Gaeth each won an individual event as well. Calhoon won the 200-yard IM (2:12.69), while Hake finished first in the 100-yard backstroke (58.87). Gaeth took first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.08.

Lily Borgenheimer and senior
Taylor Bass each won an individual event on day one as well. Borgenheimer placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.83), while Bass won the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.73). Bass also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.99, while freshman
Emelia Selky took second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:27.53.
The Mavericks won seven more events during day two of the UW-Stevens Point Invite.
MSU won two relay events on Saturday including the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Hake, Borgenheimer, Bass and Calhoon posted a time of 1:50.37 in the 200-yard medley relay event, while Bass, Selky, sophomore
Rylie Parman and Hake turned in a time of 3:42.32 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Calhoon won two more individual events on day two. Calhoon recorded a time of 4:43.72 in the 400-yard IM and a time of 2:10.22 in the 200-yard backstroke. Borgenheimer, who finished second in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:46.33, took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.89 as well.
Bass claimed first place in the 100-yard butterfly event (58.17) and Hake finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.98) as well.
Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday, January 27, as it travels to MSU Moorhead. The dual is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
