Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State women's basketball beat UW-Eau Claire on Saturday night by the score of 86-47.
Right at the start of the game , the Mavericks jumped out to a 7-0 lead over the Bluegolds. Throughout the rest of the first half, MSU was able to hold on to its lead into halftime over UWEC, 37-28.
At the break, sophomore guard
Britney Scherber led the Mavericks with eight points as junior forward
Anna Leloux wasn't too far behind with seven points of her own. A trio of Mavericks also accumulated six points in the first half with senior forward

McKenzie Hoelmenn and sophomore guard
Sammie Delzotto.
In the second half, the Mavericks came out firing on all cylinders as MSU went on to outscore UWEC, 49-19. In the half, the Purple and Gold shot a blistering 74% from the field and forced 15 Bluegolds turnovers.
Leading all scorers for the Mavericks in the second half was Ulfers posting another eight points. Junior guard
Taryn Wicks recorded seven points of her own as senior guard
Aubrey Davis dished out six assists.
Overall, it was a balanced effort by MSU as five Mavericks posted at least 10 points in the game. Ulfers led all scorers with 14 points, with Scherber collecting 12 points of her own and Leloux finishing with 11 points and four rebounds. Hoelmenn and Delzotto each tallied 10 points as Davis led all players with eight assists in the game.
The next time the Mavericks will hit the court will be Friday at Taylor Center, as they will play host to Central Missouri. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
