Box Score St. Cloud, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women’s hockey team used two goals in the final ten minutes of regulation to pull out a 2-1 victory over St. Cloud State Friday afternoon in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association collision at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
The Mavericks now hold a 27-26-5 all-time advantage over St. Cloud State.
Back-to-back trips to the penalty box proved troublesome for the Mavericks at 18:48 of the first period when
Molli Mott put a rebound away for a five-on-three power-play goal giving the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
Minnesota State responded by outshooting SCSU 8-7 in the second stanza but was unable to capitalize on a bevy of rebounds given up by Huskie goaltender

Shelby Moteyunas helped MSU break through at 10:20 of the third period when her slap shot from the point hit the crossbar and banked in for her first career goal. Just over three minutes later, senior
Lauren Smith put the Mavericks on top with her team-high 12th goal of the season, which proved to be the game-winner.

Kelsie Scott added two assists for Minnesota State in the victory.
