Box Score Columbus, Ohio—Minnesota State (7-19-0, 3-17-0 WCHA) was swept by Ohio State (13-9-4, 9-9-1-1 WCHA) after a 4-2 loss Saturday afternoon at the OSU Ice Rink.
The Mavericks fell to a four-goal deficit midway through the second period and rallied to bring the score within two goals late in the third period.
The first period started the same as yesterday, ending with a 0-0 score. One thing different Saturday was MSU senior goalie
Alli Altmann got the start, making 11 saves in the first period.
Buckeyes cracked the scoreboard at 4:47 into the second period on a goal by Natalie Spooner. Shortly after, Kelly Wild found the back of the net at the 7:48 mark and to put OSU up 2-0.
Just 27 seconds later, Ohio State’s Taylor Kuehl scored to give the Buckeyes a 3-0 lead in the span of three minutes and 28 seconds.
Ohio State added a power-play goal at 16:14 in the second period, ending the day 1-of-6 on the power-play.
The Mavericks got in the scoring column after a power-play goal of their own as junior defenseman
Emilia Andersson scored her third goal of the season. Senior

Lauren Smith marked the assists. The Mavericks were 1-of-3 on the power-play.
In a late third period effort MSU’s
Kari Lundberg scored with 4:30 remaining in the third period as the score ended 4-2. Sophomore

Lauren Zrust tallied the assists.
The final shots ended 37-24, favoring the Buckeyes.
Minnesota State will host Minnesota next weekend at All Seasons Arena in a WCHA two-game series in Mankato.
