LAKE CITY, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's and women's golf teams finished round one of the Jewel Invitational Monday afternoon.
The two-round Jewell Invitational is being held at the par-72 Jewel Golf Course in Lake City, Minn. Round two of the Jewel Invitational is scheduled for Tuesday.
Men's Recap
The Minnesota State men's golf team wrapped up round one of the Jewel Invitational in third place with a score of 293 (+5). Winona State leads the team standings after round one with a score of 287 (-1). Concordia-St. Paul sits in second place with a score of 291 (+3).
CSP's Brennan Weckwerth leads the individual standings with a score of 68 (-4). Weckwerth is followed by Winona State's Logan Chouinard and Bemidji State's Myles Jorde who both shot 69 (-3) in the opening round.
Freshman
Cooper Daikawa and senior
Karson Patten each shot a 71 (-1) to finish round one in a tie for sixth. Daikawa notched three birdies and 14 pars, while Patten recorded four birdies and 11 pars.
Sophomore
Sam Swavely shot a 74 (+2) in his opening round with junior
Michael Johnson following with a 77 (+5). Swavely recorded four birdies, while Johnson tallied two. Sophomore
Paul Rezko posted a 79 (+7) also as he posted three birdies.

Logan Peroutka posted a 74 (+2) to finish the round in a tie for 17th as he recorded three birdies. Freshman

Julian Bhardwaj finished the day with an 82 (+10), with senior
Jack Schrader following one shot back with an 83 (+11). Freshman

Women's Recap
The Minnesota State women's golf team finished round one of the Jewel Invitation in fifth place. The Mavericks posted a score of 322 (+34) in the opening round. Augustana leads the team standings at 303 (+15), with Sioux Falls following in second at 305 (+17).
Concordia-St. Paul's Addi Wood and Augustana's Carmen Jirele lead the individual standings with scores of 72 (E).
Junior
Emerson Garlie paced the Mavericks with a 76 (+4) as she recorded three birdies to finish the day in a tie for sixth. Senior
Lauren Brown shot an 80 (+8) as she notched three birdies to finish the round in a tie for 20th. Junior
Kelby Anderson followed one shot behind Brown with an 81 as she tallied one birdie as well.

Aly Blomberg posted an 85 (+13) as well, with freshman
Brooklyn Lee following one stroke behind with an 86 (+14). Freshmen
