HUDSON, Wis. --- The Minnesota State men's and women's golf teams wrapped up day one of the Maverick Fall Brawl Monday afternoon.
The two-round Maverick Fall Brawl is being held at the par-71 Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, Wis.
Men's Recap
The Minnesota State men's golf team finished the first round of the Maverick Fall Brawl in third place with a score of 303 (+19). UMary and Concordia-St. Paul lead the team standings with scores of 296 (+12) after the first round.
"The men played pretty solid today," head coach
Alex Schmitz said. "I'm happy with how they started the first round of the season."
CSP's Brennan Weckwerth leads the individual standings with a score of 70 (-1).
Senior
Karsen Patten finished round one just two shots behind the leader with a 72 (+1). Patten recorded a pair of birdies and shot a 35 (-1) on the front nine. Sophomore
Paul Rezko finished the day two shots behind Patten with a 74 (+3). Rezko notched a team-best five birdies in the opening round and like Patten, shot a 35 (-1) on the front nine.
Junior
Michael Johnson shot a 78 (+7) that included 11 pars, including a +2 effort (35) on the back nine. Junior
Logan Peroutka followed one stroke behind Johnson at 79 (+8) as he shot a 36 (+1) on the back nine as well. Sophomore
Sam Swavely added an 84 (+13) in the opening round as well as he recorded 11 pars.

Cooper Daikawa finished the day tied for 12th with a score of 75 (+4) that included a pair of birdies. Freshman
Benny Waller and junior
Jack Schrader each shot an 80 (+9). Waller recorded nine pars, while Schrader notched 11 pars and a birdie.
Sophomore
Julian Bhardwaj shot an 82 that included one birdie, while
Owen Matejeck posted an 89 (+18).

Women's Recap
The Minnesota State women's golf team finished round one of the Maverick Fall Brawl in a tie for fourth place with Pittsburg State at (+41, 325). UW-Stout and St. Catherine lead the team standings with scores of 319 (+35), with Concordia-St. Paul following in third place at 323 (+39).
"Unfortunately the women didn't have their best today, but we are only a few back," Head Coach
Alex Schmitz said. "I'm happy with how they grinded through some tough weather."
Concordia-St. Paul's Addi Wood and Wayne State's Molly Goc lead the individual standings with scores of 76 (+5).
Junior
Emerson Garlie paced the Mavericks in round one as she shot a 79 (+8) to finish the round in a tie for 10th. Garlie notched nine pars and a birdie. Junior
Aly Blomberg followed one stroke back with a score of 80 (+9). Blomberg notched a team-best three birdies in round one, to go with five pars.
Freshman
Brooklyn Lee and junior
Kelby Anderson both shot 83 (+12) in round one to finish the day tied for 27th. Lee notched one birdie and 10 pars, while Anderson recorded eight pars. Senior
Lauren Brown followed one stroke behind Lee and Anderson with an 84 as she notched nine pars.
Freshmen
Maddy Fee and
Tayla Perry both competed independently. Fee shot an 87 (+16) that included two birdies, while Perry shot an 89 (+18) that included one birdie.
The Mavericks finish up the Maverick Fall Brawl on Tuesday.
