SMITHVILLE, Mo. --- The Minnesota State men's golf team finished the NSIC Championships in eighth place Sunday.
The three-round NSIC Championships were held at the par-72 Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo. The Mavericks posted scores of 306-308-307--921 (+57) to take eighth place. Winona State finished first with scores of 294-291-282—867 (+3). Winona State's Max Jericho finished first in the team standings with scores of 70-70-75--215 (-1).
Junior
Karson Patten shot an even 72 in his final round to finish in sixth place overall at +2. Patten notched six birdies in his final round with three coming on both the front and back nines.
Sophomore
Michael Johnson posted a 75 in the third round, including three birdies, to finish in 27th overall at +14. Senior
Hogan Ordal followed three strokes behind Johnson at +17 as he tallied an 81 in the final round to finish in 31st place.
Freshman
Paul Rezko turned in an 80 in the final round to finish in 44th place at +26, while senior
Leo Werschay tallied an 80 to finish one stroke behind Rezko at +27.
