MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's hockey team announced the winners of their 2025-26 team awards earlier today.

Hardest Worker & Unsung Hero – Campbell Cichosz
- Served as an assistant captain… Played in all 40 games…. Tallied four goals and 10 assists…. Recorded a goal and an assist against Bowling Green (11/7) for his lone multiple point game… Tallied a season-high seven shots on goal against Northern Michigan (2/27)… Finished the season +6… Had 63 blocks on the season, the second highest total on the team… Recorded a season-high four blocks on four different occasions… Signed a professional contract with the Toledo Walleyes (ECHL) following the season.
Leadership Award - Â
Mason Wheeler
- Served as team captain. Appeared in all 40 games… Tallied 91 blocked shots, a total that ranked second in the country... Had 11 blocked shots in MSU's 4-1 win over St. Thomas in the CCHA Championship game, the most by any individual in the country during the 2025-26 season… Had one goal and eight assists… Tallied his lone goal in MSU's win over Ferris State in the CCHA quarterfinals (3/8). Finished the season +10… Tallied four shots on goal twice… Signed a professional contract with the Bloomington Bison (ECHL) following the season.
Most Improved Player – Jordan Ronn
- Played in 36 games scoring four goals and assisting on five to finish with nine points… Tallied first career point with an assist in MSU's win over RPI (10/24)… Scored first career goal at Augustana (12/12)… All four games came in a nine-game stretch… Tallied an assist in MSU's 4-1 win over St. Thomas in the CCHA Championship game… Registered a season-high four shots in MSU's win over Ferris State (3/8)… Finished the season +8.
Maverick 3 Star Award & Most Valuable Player – Alex Tracy
- Played in 39 games for the Mavericks in net… Was a Second-Team All-CCHA selection… Six-time CCHA Goaltender of the Week… Two-time CCHA Goaltender of the Month (November and February)… Mike Richter semifinalist… Hobey Baker nominee… Logged 2,365 minutes in net… Boasted a 1.70 goals against average, second-best in the NCAA… Recorded five shutouts and had a .927 save percentage… Recorded 30 or more saves five times… Was named the Don Buchanan Senior Student-Athlete of the Year for his efforts in the classroom and on the ice… Finished second in MSU history in games played by a goaltender (115), shutouts (13) and save percentage (.927); third in minutes played (6,828), and wins (66); fifth in saves (2,690) and goals against average (1.88).
Minnesota State finished the 2025-26 season with a record of 22-11-7, winning the CCHA regular season and post season championship and qualifying for the NCAA tournament for the 11
th time in program history.
