Luke Strand has announced
Sam Court will join the Mavericks for the 2026-27 season.
Court, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, joins the Mavericks after two seasons at Arizona State. While with the Sun Devils he appeared in 67 career games, scoring four goals and dishing out 13 assists for 17 career points. He owns 83 career blocked shots. Court enters next season with two years of eligibility remaining.
This past season, tallied six points (one goal, five assists) and blocked 45 shots, the third most on the team.
"Sam is a transitional defenseman with offensive instincts and the ability to move the puck," said Strand. "We look forward to him making our defensive corps deeper and more experienced."
Prior to his time in Tempe, Court played one season (2023-24) in the USHL with Sioux City, appearing in 62 games and scoring 11 goals to go with 24 for assists for 35 points.
